This exercise should be performed with a dumbbell in each hand and the arms slightly bent. The movement should begin with the weights held together in front of the body, whilst stood up.

The arms should then be raised so that the weights are parallel with the shoulders and then lowered slowly. Be sure to lean slightly forward whilst performing this exercise, otherwise the Anterior Deltoids will take the brunt of the load. More

Creatine - The Facts

Creatine Phosphate is manufactured by the liver and is stored in the muscles. Its association with bodybuilding relates to the key role that it plays in muscle stamina. For Creatine Phosphate (or CP) is used to generate extra energy when the muscle runs out of its usual energy source ATP (Adenosine Triphospate).
Note that a pool of creatine phosphate is stored in the muscle fibres and CP stores in the muscle fibres are about 10 times larger than are the stores of ATP.
Without getting to technical, the process of CP usage is as follows.
1. During exercise ATP has its phosphate stripped away. This results in the generation of energy, which is then converted into muscular movement.
2. When the phosphates stored as ATP are used up, CP comes into play providing the muscles with extra energy.
3. Soon this energy source also runs out and we fatigue. It then typically takes 5-10 mins for the muscles to fully restock with CP.

Now the idea of taking CP as a supplement is that the muscles will have this extra CP floating around the body as an extra energy source. In theory therefore this should provide increased stamina and strength in the muscles.
However this is not how it works in practice. Numerous studies have been taken and it has been found that no benefits are gained from taking this EXPENSIVE supplement. The CP simply is not stored in sufficiently large amounts in the muscles to have any additional effect on muscle stamina, other than the effects that occur naturally due to the Creatine created by the liver.
I should point out here though that this article is kinda against what a lot of bodybuilders believe, so many people reading it may not agree. I know that some studies do show some improvement after taking this product, however others do not. The fact that some studies do show an improvement is thought by some to be a result of a psychosomatic response to taking the Creatine. Taking it does however seem to cause no ill affect, therefore if you do want to give it a try to see if it helps you, then why not! It can't do any harm.
